The Plan has, yet again, changed from its original shape and scope.
We are currently revising the Plan. It has been revised before. A brief accounting of where it has been:

Reunify the long-lost Quarneri clan
This domain began as a way to gather the scattered Quarneris of the world back into one place. Then we discovered there is no clan to gather — the surname is an accident of history.

Become the repository for the family’s virtual brains
Multi-petabyte fMRI scans of every surnamed member, held in perpetuity. We abandoned this on realizing we would be imprisoning ourselves as brains in vats, and that “cleaning up old backups” would be tantamount to murder.

Found a great and benevolent philanthropic foundation
Funding and facilitating innovation in Housing, Health, and Heart:
- H1Housing. Semi-automated, scalable pre-fab construction to solve housing scarcity on Earth — then parlay the technology into building on Lunar and Martian terra.
- H2Health. Health-insurance finance through a member co-op focused on preventative medicine, daily diagnostic data, an annual full-body scan, and top-notch treatment recommendations from our “MI” — Medical Intelligence.
- H3Heart. A hearty army of social-welfare warriors carrying the case load of people who need near-daily CBT sessions to break free of isolating, escapist addictions.
Then a bean counter pointed out that initiatives of that sort require a hefty endowment, which we don't have — Yet (?)

Host some family websites. Facilitate email.
So that is where we are. A handful of pages, a handful of mailboxes, and a standing invitation to the endowment whenever it would like to arrive.

An accident of history
Where “Quarneri” came from
Nobody knows for certain. The best guess is that a clerk misread a cursive G.
“Quarneri” is very likely a mistaken reading of Guarneri — a far more common Italian family name, and one with a semi-famous luthier attached to it. The evidence is in the arrival records. A stroke of luck one might say.

Giuseppe was a 59-year-old widower from Sliatoldo, Sicily. He departed Napoli and arrived 25 April 1910. Ignazio was a 40-year-old married man; Giovanna, at 11, was presumably his daughter. They left Palermo together and arrived aboard the Perugia on 13 February 1913.
The same query for “Guarneri” returns 352 matches, most of them arriving in the first fifteen years of the 20th century — with a number of apparent duplicates worth a closer look someday.

In any case: it is a unique name starting with an uncommon letter, which makes Quarneris very easy to find. All Quarneris are therefore advised to be kind and to make friends of any enemies.
